Salary: $1560 / Week The Educational Sign Language Interpreter supports staff, students, and families by providing interpretation and translation services for deaf and hearing-impaired students. The interpreter also effectively facilitates communication between students who use sign language due to hearing loss, and students/teachers who do not. Minimum Requirements: + State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable) + Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement) + Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement) + Current CPR if applicable + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age General Comments Essential Job Details: Technical Skills Needed/Minimum Experience/Qualifications Must have an NIC and/or EIPA of 4.0 Positions Available: 1 Start Date: 9/3/25 - Possible PD days prior to start Location: Gig Harbor, WA Length of Contract: 2025-2026 school year Schedule: Monday-Friday Hours/Week (Paid/Unpaid Lunch) Student in-person days/time only; M, T, Th, F 9:00am-3:30pm, W 10:00am-3:30pm; potential for extra hours for extra-curricular activities Position Details (Age group, Caseload, Duties): -For the 2025-2026 school year -Will not do much floating. Will be working at no more than 2-3 buildings. Gas mileage is NOT reimbursed as the schools are very close to each other -In person candidates only.
