Scope of Responsibility: A Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) Manager's primary duties revolve around coordinating and optimizing the SIOP process within an organization. This includes leading the development and execution of demand planning strategies, aligning sales, inventory, and operations, and ensuring that business goals are met. They also oversee the SIOP process, which involves creating and maintaining schedules, monitoring inventory, and collaborating with various teams.

 

Essential Duties:

·        Conducting regular SIOP meetings to review demand forecasts, supply plans, and potential risks.

·        Creating and executing a comprehensive demand planning strategy that aligns with business goals

·        Provide leaders with office, cell phone numbers, and e-mail to be reached 24/7 as items arises that effect the business

·        Review and Re?ne internal department procedures

·       Assist in developing and maintaining reports and various schedules (i.e. monthly invoicing, major project activity, and daily job report)

·        Continuously improve procedures and practices for organization

·        Work closely with planning, receiving, and inventory team

·        Oversees the execution and reporting of department operational duties including goals and system transactions

·        Maintain an environment of continuous improvement. Continually evaluate & monitor the changing business environment and change current processes as necessary to effectively service the customer

·        Work closely with all departments to improve internal communications

·        Teamwork within the department and with other areas

·        Performs other duties as assigned

 

Position Requirements: 

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Prior experience in the steel and component industries highly preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

·         General knowledge and understanding of several business areas

·         Strong Steel industry and Component experience

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·         Strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability

·         Strong understand of engineering, drafting, manufacturing, and shipping procedures

·         Ability to drive organization to be industry leaders in customer service, job scheduling, project management, quality systems, product trends, and issues within each market

·         Ability to work several leads with other areas of responsibility

·         Ability to dig into speci?c areas tactfully and respectfully

·         Effectively work independently or others current speci?c projects

·         Strong general office tools skills, i.e. MS Project, MS Outlook, EXCEL, and EPICOR preferred

·         Ability to read and understand drawings/blueprints

·         Sensitivity to the nuances of cultural differences and ability to help others with those differences

·         Ability to plan, organize, and co-ordinate resources to ensure projects are completed in an efficient manner

·         Ability to effectively manage and prioritize competing priorities

·         Regular and timely attendance is required

 

Physical Requirements:  

·        This is an office position requiring the use of office equipment such as a computer, copier, fax, phone, etc. most of the day.

·        While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to type, ?nger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

·        Frequently required to sit; talk and hear

·        Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds
