You will be trained to work throughout the site logistics department: in the yard, raw materials warehouse and palletised finished goods autopalletisation/despatch areas as part of the logistics team on a specified shift. Adhering to safe working practices in a busy logistics yard or raw materials warehouse, liaising with shift Team Leaders to ensure smooth and timely loading / unloading raw materials trailers/bulk tankers & finished goods trailers, OR loading/despatching finished goods pallets, OR operating/autonomously maintaining our autopalletisation lines – all as part of a shift team. Responsibilities • Full pre use inspection (PUI) of shunt motors, including reporting and arranging defect repairs to Terberg. • Full trailer check status of finished goods, raw materials, empty trailers, WIP, holds, damaged trailers. Report any trailer defects to NRDC to resolve. • Liaise with factory despatch teams / inventory control / warehouse teams / site security / regional distribution centres for movement of trailers on / off bays (finished goods and raw materials) • Liaise with external drivers, managing safety, movements and timing. • Communicate with warehouse team leader ref: Due Ins report to plan receipt & receive all bulk deliveries to oil tanks/silos including safety, quality assurance checks, safe and timely unloading into silos, book certificate of analysis (COA) details onto PQIS & SAP systems. Book all bulk deliveries onto SAP and match off correct purchase orders. • Liaising with potato intake to depart / dock potato trailers and replenish process waste / white starch trailers as and when required according to production demands. • Liaising with pallet suppliers (Clarks) to ensure site replenishment of empty pallet trailers. • Managing and directing fuel deliveries to site. • There is no yard management / transport office on site so shunters are responsible for all actions on the yard, this includes all 3rd party deliveries and collections to / from site. Also manage any external contractor site movement for ad hoc engineering projects. At the finish of shift a full site check is carried out and e-mails sent to the network of loads left on site and any trailers with stock or empty are held contacting the relevant departments if unrecognised stock discovered. • Hand over meeting with the oncoming shunter to highlight any watchouts or follow ups required. • Near Miss raising and actioning plus accident investigations following any incidents on site regarding transport. • Load / unload trailers into warehouse – Lineside orders / card / film / seasoning / bulk rice / bulk sugar / bulk starch / bulk IBC’s etc. • Stock controlled receipt and storage of raw materials into warehouse racking and designated storage locations via FLTs. • Loading and despatch of finished goods pallets into trailers on despatch. • Operation and autonomous maintenance of autopalletisation lines. • Housekeeping duties to ensure that Health, Safety and Hygiene standards are met. • As required to undertake factory stock counts and reconciliation. • Operate to site environmental standards. Raise & action near misses and support ESAT initiatives. Qualifications • Full, clean driving licence • Advantageous but not essential: already trained and experienced in operation of autop 1 &/or 2. • Has the ability and likes to flex across different work areas: shunter/yard; warehouse and despatch/autop • Self motivated – results focused • Strong communication skills • Strong team player with a continuous improvement approach • Promotes safe working practices • Sets high personal standards for quality of work and level of service provided • Searches for and drives the development of solutions to problems
