Job Posting ExternalJob Duties
Haul scrap steel and metal shavings from plants to outside storage bins. Move hoppers to and from lift trucks by hand at many machine locations. Use lift trucks to transport scrap metal hoppers and dump in their proper outside storage bins. Do maintenance tasks including grounds clean-up, snow removal, re-finishing floors. General cleaning of restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Read, remember, reason, carry and listen to radio. Per 8-12 hour shift (stand up to 5 hrs., walk up to 4 hrs., sit up to 3 hrs.), frequently (bend, reach above shoulder level, push/pull), occasionally (squat, crawl, climb). Frequent lifting and carrying (frequently from 0 to 49 lbs., occasionally from 50 to 100 lbs. with the help of another person or lifting device). Must be able to hear, see, have good binocular vision, use foot to operate foot pedals, do simple and firm grasping with both hands. Must be able to work in a moderately noisy environment with exposure to outside temperature changes, dust, solvents, and oil. Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience operating a lift truck preferred. Ability to learn differences in scrap metals.
Earn an additional $1.50/hour for working 2nd or 3rd shift (4/10 work schedule), or an additional $5.00/hour for working weekend shift (3/12 work schedule).
