**The Job**
+ Safety Compliance: Abide by all SBD Martin safety rules and regulations.
+ Personnel Management:
+ Manage shipping personnel, including assigning work, overseeing timecards, and administering disciplinary actions.
+ Supervise all lift drivers and scanner-labelers to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
+ Warehouse Operations:
+ Assist warehouse coordinators with account management.
+ Oversee outbound load accuracy and completion.
+ Special Shipments: Coordinate with personnel for special shipments, including those destined for corporate offices, trade shows, or other events.
+ Role Coverage: Assist with filling in key roles as needed, such as team leader, shipping clerk, or loader.
+ Equipment Maintenance:
+ Report and communicate equipment issues (e.g., forklifts, scan guns, yard dog trucks) to the appropriate personnel for repair.
+ Coordinate trailer repair across all campus groups.
+ Yard Operations: Work with and support yard dog drivers regarding shuttle issues and coordinated trailer pulls.
+ Procurement: Order parts and warehouse supplies as required.
+ Cost Control: Ensure labor costs and head counts remain within budget.
+ Training and Auditing: Instruct team members on ISO standards and 5S methodologies and perform regular safety walks.
**The Person**
+ Strong Supervisory Skills: Demonstrates effective team leadership and oversight.
+ Excellent Communication: Able to convey information clearly and professionally to team members and stakeholders.
+ Technical Proficiency:
+ Skilled in operating scanning, printing, and forklift equipment.
+ Good working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
+ Attendance: Maintains near-perfect attendance, contributing to team reliability.
+ Self-Motivation: Works efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision.
+ Flexibility: Willing and able to work long hours on short notice to meet operational needs.
+ Education: Holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
