Shipping & Receiving Specialist Job Designation The Shipping & Receiving Specialist verifies and maintains records on routine incoming and outgoing shipments. Ships and receives merchandise or material and arranges the transportation of goods, while following policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Job Core Responsibilities + Plans, schedules, and monitors the movement of material through the production cycle, following company instructions. + Determines material requirements from engineering and production schedules. + Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering. + Develops specifications for new contract orders. + Places purchase orders for the supply of product and plans materials that are required to meet order book. + Monitors and coordinates all asset tracking, purchasing and inventory control. + Other responsibilities as assigned. + Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary. Job Specifications Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations. Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in related field.
