SUMMARY
This occupation requires the knowledge and skills needed to supervise a
shipping and receiving department. Perform the day-to-day operation of
supervising the shipping and receiving department (S/R). Be able to
interface with employees, management, and customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise S/R operations. Interact with other Supervisors and Lead man. Follows
direction of Manufacturing Leadership to meet daily production schedules and
reports status. Works as a team with functional area supervisors and managers
to accomplish objectives and meet customer requirements of quality, service,
and performance expectations.
Assures safe working environment. Complies with all EH&S rules and
regulations as well as actively participating in Safety Meetings.
Supports and communicates information timely between company and employees.
Implements company policy.
Maintains a clean and orderly work environment. Sustain 6s in the work
environment.
Responsible for identifying and eliminating waste.
Prepare yearly performance reviews and disciplinary actions while taking steps
required to help employees improve/develop in both instances. Recommends
promotion of qualified and skilled workers.
Trains, cross-trains and maintains proficiency records of employees.
Oversees use of company phones and credit cards that are allocated to S/R.
Reviews, counsels, evaluates, and disciplines employees as necessary.
Identifies and recommends proper staffing levels based on production needs.
Schedules and controls overtime.
Maintains employee records and ADP time punches.
Reviews workmanship and handling related problems.
Assures proper maintenance of equipment and trucks.
Ensure necessary packing supplies and tools are provided.
Maintains inventory control and accuracy.
Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.
Oversee the securing of loads on delivery trucks
Oversee proper packaging for parts being delivered via common carrier, UPS,
FedEx.
This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the El Cajon, CA location.
