Primary FunctionPlans, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received from suppliers ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so that supplies and equipment are delivered to the proper departments in an effective and efficient manner according to departmental procedures. The supervisor will also oversee all shipping activities in accordance with company and departmental priorities.
Responsibilities Plans and coordinates work assignments. Trains, motivates and monitors the performance of receiving/shipping personnel. Maintains equipment used in the department to assure that employees move supplies and equipment is a safe manner. Provide all necessary training to staff on proper shipping and receiving procedures in accordance with regulations and company policies including appropriate labeling and storage of laboratory products. Provide necessary training to staff on shipping procedures, use of FedEx shipping systems and international shipping regulations. Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storage, shipping and salvaging of equipment and supplies. Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. 3+ years of related experience or training, preferably shipping/receiving in a manufacturing facility. 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience. SAP experience is required Knowledge of international shipping procedures is a plus. Ability to set work assignments and schedules for staff. Must have the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization.
