The Rocky Mountain Service Center (an ASSA ABLOY company) is a manufacturer of steel doors and frames for the commercial and industrial markets. Our facility based in Aurora, Colorado is looking to add motivated experienced individuals who enjoy performing various shipping and receiving functions to help the operation run smoothly.
What would you do as our Shipping and Receiving 1 team member?
The Shipping and Receiving team member is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement of goods into and out of the facility. This role ensures that all inventory is received and shipped according to company standards, while maintaining quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery. The team member plays a vital role in inventory management, shipping operations, and fostering communication across various departments to support seamless business operations.

Receiving Functions
Unload and inspect incoming shipments to ensure all items are received in the correct quantity, in good condition, and meet quality standards, thereby maintaining inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction. Verify items against packing slips and other records. Confirming that all received goods match the order details to prevent any discrepancies in inventory or billing. Maintain accurate records of any discrepancies to inform appropriate departments and initiate corrective actions for missing or damaged goods. Ensuring the safe and efficient transport of goods to appropriate storage locations using forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, or hand trucks, preventing damage and maximizing warehouse organization. Organize and store incoming products in designated locations to streamline access, minimize errors, and maintain an organized warehouse. Coordinate with Customer Service Department to resolve discrepancies or issues with shipments, ensure smooth operations. Contribute to inventory accuracy by assisting in periodic cycle counts and inventory audits as required.Shipping Functions
Ensure all outgoing goods are properly packed, labeled, and documented to meet shipping requirements and customer expectations. Select the most efficient and cost-effective shipping method, balancing speed, cost, and customer satisfaction. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Keep track of necessary shipping supplies (e.g., boxes, labels, tape) to avoid delays in shipping processes. Provide timely updates on shipping status, enabling Customer Service to keep clients informed about their orders and resolve any issues quickly. Verify that outgoing goods meet quality standards and customer specifications to avoid returns and ensure satisfaction. Collaborate with Production and Operations teams to optimize warehouse space, improve workflows, and enhance overall shipping and receiving processes.General Responsibilities
Promote a safe and efficient working environment by maintaining regular housekeeping and adhering to safety standards. Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct. Other duties as assigned by management.
The Skills and Experience you need:
Minimum of 1 recent years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse role. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks under tight time deadlines minimizing disruptions. Excellent communication, organization and computer skills. Recent experience operation sit-down forklift, stand up reach truck, pallet jack, and hand forklift required. Experience working with an ERP and scan gun system.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Language Ability
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English. Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Mathematical Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems.
Computer Skills
Knowledge of ERP systems and shipping software.

PAY: $22.50 - $24.50 per hour, depending on experience.
