Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to join our team in San Diego, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a critical role in managing international shipments, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and process shipments with accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and international shipping standards.
• Monitor and track shipments throughout their lifecycle, providing timely updates and resolving issues such as delays or missing documents.
• Communicate with FedEx and Customs to address any challenges or requirements related to shipping processes.
• Review and validate shipping documentation from contract manufacturers and third-party vendors, confirming tariff numbers, values, and product descriptions.
• Manage the coordination and delivery of product sample shipments for clients and internal teams.
• Organize and ship materials for sales teams, including supplies for events and promotional items.
• Facilitate logistics for trade show booths and larger shipments, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
• Oversee office supply shipments, maintaining inventory and ensuring timely deliveries.
• Assist with unpacking and organizing supplies for office shipments, ensuring smooth operations.
• Provide logistical support for facility projects and address ad-hoc shipping needs as required.
Requirements
• Proven experience in international shipping coordination and logistics is a MUST.
• Familiarity with FedEx processes and customs regulations.
• Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedules and the ability to validate shipping documentation accurately.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple shipments and deadlines.
• Proficiency in shipping software and inventory tracking systems.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with vendors, customs officials, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle ad-hoc shipping requirements.
• Prior experience with trade show logistics or similar large-scale shipping operations is a plus.
• IATA certification for Dangerous Goods handling is preferred
