Job Summary
3rd shift hours: Sun -Thurs. 9:30 pm - 6:00 am
The Shipping Coordinator provides clerical and analytical support to our production and logistics teams. This role is essential in ensuring timely and accurate shipment of products in alignment with production schedules, inventory levels, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Review and interpret shop schedules to plan and coordinate outbound shipments.Schedule shipments in alignment with the production plan and customer delivery requirements.Generate and summarize daily shipment paperwork for supervisory and management review.Select and coordinate transportation methods based on shipment needs.Perform forward planning using work center requirements to help supervisors identify and resolve material shortages.Support production reporting and maintain accurate shipping documentation.Create and analyze shipping reports to improve logistics efficiency.Collaborate with production supervisors to resolve shipping-related issues and discrepancies.Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure on-time delivery and pick-up schedules.Conduct audits of in-process shipments to ensure compliance and accuracy.Utilize business systems and tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, IQMS, and TrueView for reporting and documentation.Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records and files.Communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, inventory control, and transportation.Qualifications & Skills
Basic understanding of shipping and logistics processes, including common transportation methods and shipping documentation.Familiarity with manufacturing operations, including reading drawings and understanding workflow.Working knowledge of inventory control methods such as KANBAN and pull systems.Strong decision-making skills grounded in standard operating procedures.Proven ability to multitask, troubleshoot, and solve problems effectively.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.Ability to read a tape measure and follow detailed instructions.Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of working both independently and collaboratively.Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Requirements
