Job Description
As a Shipping Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of packing and shipping duties. Your responsibilities will involve adhering to established procedures and policies, ensuring quality and accuracy, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
ResponsibilitiesPerform packing work according to written policies and procedures.Verify materials picked for sales orders match those listed on packing slips.Review and follow all instructions noted in packing instructions.Securely package materials in designated cartons per department procedures.Package hazardous materials following written policies and procedures.Execute shipping work according to written policies and procedures.Process shipments through ERP and shipping systems.Verify the accuracy of shipping labels and apply them to cartons.Apply all regulatory package labeling as required.Stage orders for collection based on department procedures.Complete workstation end-of-day processes.Create itemized packing slips and dangerous goods paperwork for applicable shipments.Cross-train to Finished Goods Clerk II requirements to support operations.Troubleshoot and resolve shipment process errors.Respond promptly and professionally to customer support requests.Ensure quality and accuracy in work.Report discrepancies to appropriate supervision.Perform cycle counts independently.Maintain a safe and clean work area.Participate in Lean initiatives and lead department Gemba walk.Monitor and reorder all shipping supplies and manage department equipment.Manage time wisely and maintain good attendance.Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.Perform all other duties as assigned.Essential Skills1 year of shipping and receiving experience.Experience with FedEx, UPS, or DHL shipping systems.Basic MS Office skills.Experience working in a high-volume environment.Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Detail-focused with strong communication skills.Ability to stand for long periods.Hours:
8:00am - 5pm or 10:00am - 6:30pm

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, California.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
