Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Shipping Clerk to join our team in Abbotsford. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor-Shipping and will be responsible for organizing trucks and couriers, as well as creating required pick/pack slips and shipping documentation in the JDE system. This role will begin as a 6 Month Contract (With Benefits).
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with forklift and truck drivers to ensure shipping paperwork on multiple shipments is accurate.Ensure that drivers receive safety orientation as required.Connect truck drivers with forklift staff and ensure safe loading of trucks.Print documents and ensure paperwork accuracy, as well as update information in the ERP system.Book appointments with third-party carriers and schedule loads with various vendors.Use TMS to tender loads to carriers.Communicate with the CSR team and other departments when needed.Pre-call customers prior to shipping.Receive products and materials in JDE delivered to the Abbotsford manufacturing site.Arrange outbound shipping of Maintenance/Production Department equipment and parts, and QC samples.Occasionally arrange inbound shipments for production and other departments.Assist with finished goods cycle counts and provide stock checks for the Shipping and Customer Service teams.Support the Shipping Supervisor in assigning and prioritizing customer shipments to hourly Loader Operators.Provide general administrative support to the Shipping team, including scanning shipping and receiving documents.Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor.Plan loads and process shipping documents (Domestic and International).Assist with customer returns.Code freight invoices in third-party software program.Follow all safety rules and complete all safety training.Provide vacation coverage within the Shipping department.Essential Skills3+ years of administrative experience in an office or warehouse setting.Basic comprehension of MS Office.Experience with ERP software.Reliable transportation.Additional Skills & QualificationsLogistics experience is nice to have.Experience within a warehouse or manufacturing environment is beneficial.Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two 15-minute coffee breaks. This position requires working on-site, with parking available. Transit options are not available. The attire is business casual, avoiding shorts and tank tops, with a safety vest and steel-toe boots required, which must be provided by the employee. The team consists of one team lead and two other shipping clerks.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.14 - $23.14/hr.
