Shipping Clerk
Job Description

Job Summary:

The Shipping employee is responsible for overseeing all shipping and receiving operations within the Distribution Center. This role involves organizing, sorting, and transferring goods efficiently while maintaining accurate records and ensuring smooth logistical operations.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Receive and process incoming product orders, including registering deliveries and distributing packages and correspondence within the company.


Maintain an organized and clean stockroom; regularly catalog inventory items.


Schedule large shipments and coordinate logistics, ensuring adequate storage space and staffing for incoming goods.


Prepare regular shipping and receiving reports for management to maintain accurate records of all goods shipped and received.


Ensure compliance with environmental management systems and safety standards.


Troubleshoot and resolve shipping issues and customer complaints promptly.


Move and store merchandise appropriately, including packaging, lifting, and using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks for large items.


Perform other related duties as assigned.



Work Experience

Handle merchandise, including lifting, packaging, and operating equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.


Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.


Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.


Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.


Computer literacy.


Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.


Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a warehouse-related role.


Physical Demands:

Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.


Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.


Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.


Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
