Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing packages, and ensuring all items are shipped accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have experience with shipping procedures, inventory systems, and forklift operation.

Pay: $17/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Work Experience

Key Responsibilities:

Verify identifying information, weight, and quantity of incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or orders.Determine the best method of shipment and communicate with carriers to negotiate shipping costs.Affix shipping labels or stencil identifying shipping information onto containers.Assemble, pack, and secure items using boxes, wooden crates, or binding materials.Accurately document shipping charges and post weights.Maintain inventory of shipping materials and ensure workspace cleanliness and organization.Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move shipments within facility.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required.Minimum 6 months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.Basic math and reading skills required.Experience using shipping/receiving computer software preferred.Customer service mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
