Shipping and Receiving Technician, 2nd shift

Responsible for the flow of material through converting operations to meet customer needs based on production schedules.

Schedule:

2nd Shift Monday - Thursday, 2:00pm - 12:00am

Pay:

$20.70

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements. Shipping: Package and process orders scheduled for shipment by delivery date. Ensure accuracy of quantities and paperwork of each order being shipped. Ensure correct labeling of product being shipped. Enter order shipped into computer. Stretch wrap all orders on skids. Receiving: Ensure accuracy of Bill of Lading and Packing Slips. Place documents in correct area for data entry by the warehouse personnel. Put away product to keep aisles clear. Perform material expeditor job as directed by supervisor. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Will have job duties specific to our Hazardous Waste Management Program for the proper disposal of spent solvents, waste inks and other designated waste products. Some of the responsibilities include the placement of waste solvents/inks in designated waste drums, labeling of waste drums and moving waste drums to designated storage locations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Must be certified to operate a forklift. Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple written and oral instructions. Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language. Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. May be required to work some overtime. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions. Ability to operate a computer. Requires education equivalent to two (2) years of high school. Ability to meet deadlines. Requires nearly constant concentration attention to detail. Ability to: stand and walk for 90% of work time; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for 10% of work time. Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less; see clearly at 20 feet or more; identify and distinguish colors; observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; judge distances and spatial relationships; and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. Ability to: use hands for 100% of work time (i.e. packing boxes, utility knife, etc.); and reach above shoulders for 25% of work time. Ability to lift: 10 pounds or less 20% of work time; 25 pounds or less 20% of work time; 50 pounds or less 50% of work time; and 100 pounds or less 10% of work time. (Example: lifting box on and off of the scale or moving roll of raw material on and off of a skid approximately 6 feet.)
