Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is looking for a Shipper/Truck Loader. In this role you will be responsible for loading and unloading goods onto and off of trucks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Physically loading and unloading goods from trucks, ensuring items are handled safely to prevent damage. Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move items within the warehouse or loading area. Tracking and documenting the movement of goods, potentially including scanning and updating inventory counts. Inspecting shipments for accuracy and quality, reporting discrepancies, and ensuring goods are properly secured for transport. Following safety procedures and guidelines, maintaining a safe working environment, and reporting any hazards or defects. Completing necessary paperwork, including delivery notes and inventory records. Collaborating with other warehouse staff and dispatchers to coordinate loading and unloading activities. Performing basic maintenance on equipment and reporting any issues. Perform other duties as directed. 

Qualifications

Experience working in a warehouse, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.  Basic knowledge of safety protocols and best practices. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members. Adaptability to changing priorities and fast-paced work environments. A proactive attitude with a commitment to quality and safety. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
