Friday is 100% optional and paid overtime
Repair, modify, install, and dismantle various shipboard hulls, bulkheads, or decks. Design and fabricate fixtures and jigs.
Report directly to the Assistant Foreman, Supervisor, or Production Lead.
Understand and follow the PPE Policy.
Lay out materials using drawings and blueprints before performing cutting and fitting operations.
Maintain good housekeeping practices, such as turning off machines when not in use, properly disposing of waste, and keeping the work area clean.
Follow all requirements of the Quality Assurance Manual when invoked by the QA Workbook, Work Package (WP), Work Instructions (WI), or other management guidance.
Identify and notify the Supervisor of unsatisfactory conditions during production operations.
Read and understand complex terminology, blueprints, drawings, and schematics to plan installations.
Fabricate and install fixtures, jigs, supports, and targets to close tolerances, ensuring the finish requirements of the drawings are met.
Determine fit-up requirements for a wide range of structural components according to applicable technical drawings, manuals, and instructions.
Determine size and material requirements.
Ensure control and assume responsibility for Contractor (CFM) and Government (GFM) furnished materials.
Use layout tools such as tool scales, squares, combination squares, and trammel points.
Understand the fitting of structural components using dogs, wedges, strong-backs, etc.
Strictly adhere to safety and quality standards, maintain good housekeeping habits, and demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and reading skills.
Possess basic computer skills.
Be willing to travel and work overtime as required.
Provide mentoring to junior craftsmen.
Perform work outside of specific trade skills as required.
