We’re recruiting for a Shift Manager to join our team, working day time shifts, supporting operations at site level and ensuring the highest standards of safety, service and efficiency. You’ll also have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks. **What you’ll do on a typical day:** + Lead, coach and support your team to deliver results, holding regular 1-2-1s and team briefings + Manage daily transport operations, including planning, debriefs, vehicle loading and route coverage + Act as a key point of contact for our customer, providing updates and resolving issues quickly + Monitor safety, compliance and service performance, ensuring all procedures are followed + Oversee absence management, RTWs and weekend planning, including agency requirements + Handle incidents, breakdowns and defects, ensuring issues are logged and resolved efficiently + Complete daily reports and handovers to ensure smooth communication between shifts **What you need to succeed:** + Strong people management and leadership skills + Experience working in a transport or logistics environment, ideally within 3PL + Excellent problem-solving and organisational abilities + Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) with attention to detail + Confident communicator with great customer service skills + The ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively and keep calm in a fast-paced setting XPO is a leading provider of world-class solutions to the most successful companies in the world.
