We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader (m/f)to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Emmen. This is a key leadership role responsible for supervising production operations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and driving team performance across shifts.
The Shift Leader will ensure a safe working environment, monitor product quality and ensure efficient and timely production in accordance with planning and applicable standards. You will be a key figure in identifying and solving problems, training employees and encouraging continuous improvement, partly by applying Six Sigma principles.
You will maintain close cooperation with relevant departments such as the Maintenance department and leads daily consultations to achieve and report on operational objectives.
The position is available on a 6-on, 4-off shift pattern, rotating through 2 morning shifts, 2 afternoon shifts, and 2-night shifts.
JOB DUTIES:
Promotes a safe working environment by conducting HSE audits, identifying and escalating unsafe situations, and training new employees on fundamental HSE rules to ensure compliance. Maintains high-quality standards within the department and across all production output. Escalates issues in line with the escalation plan and provides quality training to team members. Responsible for monthly updates to the training matrix. Takes an active role in regular meetings (e.g., Tier meetings, departmental meetings) and audits. Observes and contributes to continuous improvement efforts, serving as a motivator and role model for the team. Collaborates with the Planning department and raises concerns when delivery targets or agreements are at risk of being missed. Oversees team-related costs, including the use of hand tools, safety gear, and production equipment, ensuring resources are used responsibly. Coordinates with Technical Services to ensure timely maintenance of equipment, and escalates issues when maintenance is delayed or incomplete. Fosters effective communication and collaboration within the team, across the department, and with other departments to support a productive and cohesive work environment.
YOU MUST HAVE:
Experience supervising production operations within a manufacturing environment Strong leadership skills, with an ability to motivate and inspire team members Fluent Dutch Flexibility, be able to work a 6-on, 4-off shift pattern, rotating through 2 morning shifts, 2 afternoon shifts, and 2-night shifts
