The Position:
The Shift Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and organizing operational activities during an assigned shift to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This position plays a vital role in maintaining smooth coordination across departments, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, while adhering to safety and compliance standards. The Shift Coordinator will be assigned to one of four designated rotating shifts (A, B, C, or D) as part of a structured 12-hour shift schedule.
What You Will Do:
Coordinate daily plant activities during your assigned shift, ensuring adherence to established procedures and operational protocols.Monitor plant systems and equipment, perform routine inspections, and escalate significant concerns to supervisors or other departments for resolution.Log and relay operational data, including unit readings, equipment status, and inventory updates, to maintain accurate records and support shift-to-shift continuity.Facilitate communication between operations, maintenance, and engineering teams by providing clear updates on equipment status, operational priorities, and process changes.Provide detailed and accurate reports during shift handovers to ensure smooth transitions between A, B, C, and D shifts.Conduct regular unit inspections to identify potential risks, ensure environmental and safety compliance, and maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the plant.Assist with planned maintenance and operational activities, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), startups, shutdowns, and system adjustments in compliance with safety standards.Mentor and guide operations technicians on correct equipment operation, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques, promoting teamwork and skill development.Actively participate in operational responses during emergencies, startups, and plant process changes, ensuring that all procedures are executed safely and efficiently.
