SHEQ Officer
Role Outline
To carry out duties to agreed level of performance and contribute to the continuous improvement of administration processes. To ensure that all risks are identified and assessed by using recognized, formal and structured processes. To facilitate effective risk management, implement risk reduction measures and establish a SHE and Quality plan to achieve targets and objectives within a specific time frame. Identify legal and other requirements and establish a system for early detection of non -compliance. Responsible for all SHEQ functions, checklists and audits for the DC.
Key areas of responsibility include:
To ensure full compliance to the requirements of the O.H.S actAssist with appointments of Health and Safety Reps. Ongoing training and communication to facilitate a safe, hygienic and healthy work environmentFunctions and activities - general administrationMachinery and equipmentOccupational Health & hygiene Maintain the risk programme and fulfill requirements in support of the risk departmentResponsible for auditing of all the functions to ensure that the requirements are constantly met at the highest standardCo-ordinate functions and training with the group O.H.S officer and the group Risk ManagerConduct all SHEQ and Risk training requiredConduct monthly safety meetingsAssist Risk Manager if and when requiredEnforce compliance to statutory regulationsTo assist with the induction and training of all new employeesTo promote a positive health and safety cultureDay to Day Health and Safety issuesDeliver toolbox talksMonitoring of SHEQ statisticsRecording of PPE issues and monitoring their useAll incidents/accident reported and recorded in accordance with the company policy and legislationProactive identification of all risks and appropriate action implemented immediately and all relevant parties informedKPI's are been metParticipation on stock take preparation, planning and physical stock count.Compliance to Good Distribution Practice Guidelines, as well as MCC and SAPC requirements.Qualifications/ Skills/Competencies/Experiences
Matric (Grade 12) EssentialSAMTRAC/NEBOSH/NOSATertiary qualificationComputer literacy2 year practical Health & Safety experienceOverall knowledge of the Health & Safety functionExcellent interpersonal, leadership, motivation and planning skillsAbility to work within a pressurized environmentAbility to follow work procedures and safety rulesAbility to read, understand and follow directions/instructionsGood Analytical, Administrative & Communication skillsExcellent interpersonal, leadership, motivation and planning skillsWindows, E-mail & Accounting package proficiencyGood follow through & General EfficiencyMust be able to communicate at all levelsExcellent HR and IR skills
