AAR is Hiring Aircraft Sheetmetal Apprentices

Aircraft experience not required. We are looking for candidates who are mechanically inclined with a strong desire to learn a new skill. We will provide both classroom training (about 300 hours) and on-the-job experience. This is a full-time position and the pay starts at $16/hr. After 18 months of training and work experience, we will pay for the candidates to receive their FAA Airframe license.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, or ability required. Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in standard English. General mechanical aptitude. Must have ability to learn Must possess and be able to use minimum tools, i.e. basic hand tools, precision measurement equipment, etc. Able to comprehend and follow instructions. Able to interface in a professional and pleasant manner as required with other AAR corp. employees at all levels and with customers. EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE High school education or G.E.D. preferred. Minimum of one year of technical aircraft maintenance training from an approved aviation school or training facility. May or may not have A and P license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Exposed to high levels of noise, dust,vibration and chemical fumes. Able to lift fifty pounds without mechanical assistance. Able to bend, twist, squat and lift. Able to access and work in all areas of the aircraft to be worked on, including confined areas. Able to climb on ladders and platforms and work at heights up to fifty feet from the ground. Able to work in extreme climatic conditions.
