Sheet Metal Worker
Adecco is assisting our client PowerRail recruit for a Sheet Metal Worker. This position involves fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment by reading blueprints or instructions, selecting appropriate materials, and using tools such as shears, hammers, punches, drills, and CNC machines. Duties include measuring and marking materials, cutting, bending, and shaping metal, fastening seams and joints with welds, bolts, rivets, or solder, and smoothing or finishing surfaces. The role also requires maintaining and repairing equipment, transporting prefabricated parts, inspecting work for accuracy, and occasionally hiring, training, or supervising new employees or apprentices. Work may involve operating specialized machinery such as CNC brakes, shears, rollers, and pipe bending machines to meet project specifications. These are Monday-Friday dayshift roles. Pay rate starting at $18+ based on experience and qualifications. Please review the below details. Summary: Sheet Metal Workers should report to the Production manager each day to see what needs to be completed. Sheet Metal Workers will perform the following duties: Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, and other plates that need to be formed. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer; operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts; or inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Maintain equipment, make repairs or modifications when necessary. + Fasten seams or joints together with welds, bolts, rivets, solder, metal drive clips, or bonds to assemble components into products or to repair sheet metal items. + Transport prefabricated parts to other factory locations for assembly and installation. + Hire, train, or supervise new employees or apprentices. + Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, such as sheet goods, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, or rulers. + Fabricate or alter parts at shop, using shears, hammers, punches, or drills. + Determine project requirements, such as scope, assembly sequences, or required methods or materials, using blueprints, drawings, or written or verbal instructions. + Select gauges or types of sheet metal or nonmetallic material, according to product specifications. + Shape metal material over anvils, blocks, or other forms, using hand tools. + Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, or smooth surfaces, seams, or joints of assembled parts, using hand tools or portable power tools. + Inspect individual parts, assemblies, or installations, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, scales, or micrometers. + Run CNC breaks, 10’ shears, 6’ Roller and/or pipe bending machine.
