SHE Manager (m/w/d)

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Manager to lead all SHE-related programs, systems, and initiatives at our manufacturing site. As a member of the Plant Management Team, the SHE Manager plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with legal regulations and Barry Callebaut standards, fostering a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage the site’s SHE management systems in alignment with company and regulatory requirements.

Lead SHE incident management and coordinate follow-up actions to reduce risk and improve performance.

Conduct regular SHE audits, inspections, and compliance assessments; manage corrective and preventive actions.

Serve as the primary contact for all site-related SHE incidents and emergencies.

Support and coach site employees, contractors, and visitors on SHE practices and compliance.

Drive a proactive SHE culture through engagement, leadership behavior, and application of the Barry Callebaut Life Saving Principles.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into engineering, maintenance, and operational practices.

Monitor SHE performance using KPIs and the SHE Scorecard; use insights to implement improvements.

Ensure alignment with standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and local regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or equivalent industrial experience.

Relevant certifications and qualifications as per local legal requirements.

Internal or ISO auditor qualifications are an advantage.

5 to 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on Safety, Health, Environment, Operations, or Continuous Improvement.

Proven track record in SHE risk management, systems implementation, and cultural transformation.

Strong project management, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Proficiency in English; other languages are an asset.

Experience with Lean/TPM methodologies is a plus.
