JOB PURPOSE

The site SHE Manager has overall responsibility for managing Safety, Health & Environment

improvement activities to achieve excellence at the site level. S/he works with site Supply Chain teams to develop the local SHE Strategy and improvement plans in order to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries, illnesses and environmental impact as measured in the core KPIs. Where geographical proximity, size and complexity permit, this role cover one site

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

Provide and deploy in the global/cluster SHE strategy, policy and standards and guidelines in the site to achieve excellent sustainable resultsManage the SHE teams in the region responsible to deliver Occupational Health, Safety and Environment resultsLead the Go to Market SHE Agenda within the market in accordance with Unilever Safety Standards and Requirements- Logistics SafetyDrive safety and environment risk assessment and develop/implement appropriate controlsReduce the site’s environmental impact in the areas of COD, hazardous & non-hazardous waste, SOx & CO2 emissions and water & energy consumptionOversee compliance to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) requirements for the countryDevelop a thorough understanding of the Unilever BBS Program and support deployment in the siteDevelop a thorough understanding of the Unilever PSM Program (if applicable to the site PS risks) and support deployment in the site and support the application of Unilever guidelines and procedures for Process Safety assessment (SIMAS)Influence senior management and drive safety and environmental leadership through line managementMonitor site legal compliance and ensure the site meets all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever standards, provide advice on national SHE legislation requirements & implement relevant procedures and policiesWork closely with Occupational Health personnel to identify and mitigate risks which may lead to occupational ill healthAssist the site leader to develop and lead the internal crisis committees and safety committee; support the site leader in leading serious incident investigation and analysisAdvise line management in all accident/incident investigations Conduct trend analysis from incidents, near misses, safe behaviour observations and deep compliance auditsDevelop and deploy internal SHE auditing and inspection systems, participate in audits of other Unilever organizations as requiredDetermine training needs and assist in delivery of training programs and coachingOversee all OS/EPR/SHE PAR reporting as well as any business leadership requirements from the SHE department.Project safety: participate and approve health and safety requirements in design and instalments of new and modified facilities and equipmentContractor safety implementationImplementation of CSHEC committeesSolicit and/or generate innovative ideas and approaches to solve persistent safety rerated problemsDeploy Contract Manufacturing safety MMR, audit compliance and support capacity building, performance reporting and reviewDeploy Contract logistics safety MMR, Support implementation of the standard, Participate in Internal audits. Review performance to drive compliance and continuous improvementsSupport transport and logistic team to develop and implement the Safe travel plan for Contract logistics, Audit partners on compliance to standard MMR, review performance and implement programs to ensure continuous improvements

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

ESSENTIAL

Experience in Supply Chain operationsManufacturing and/or Engineering experienceProven track record of analytical thinking and project management5-10 years Mechanical or Chemical Engineering experience

PREFERRED

Working knowledge using all SHE IT tools and how those tools integrate into other functional work processesExperience with work processes across all Unilever functions to integrate SHE standards and tools effectively.
