SHAC Health Services enhances the overall health, safety, and wellbeing of Portland State University Students by providing same-day, primary, and preventative health care. Health Services provides health education, screenings, immunizations, laboratory & x-ray, and specialized care.
Position Summary SHAC is seeking one full time provider position to be filled by either an NP/PA (see posting D93831), or a MD/DO (see posting D96100) and additionally a part-time MD/DO or NP/PA (see posting D98736).
Primary responsibilities include providing direct medical care to patients. In addition, there are minimal, shared, after-hours duties to cover the on-call phone and other urgent provider tasks. These duties are paid apart from the provider compensation.
We are seeking a provider who is experienced with trauma-informed care and working with patients of diverse cultural backgrounds. Preferred skills include:
Acute & Chronic Illnesses IUD & Nexplanon insertion and removal Wound Repair Skin Biopsies Draining I & D Abscesses Experience with Eating Disorders Experience with Gender Affirming Care & Treatment Treatment/Counseling for STI’s Experience with Abortion Care Collaborating & Consulting with RN’s Following Nursing Standing Protocols. Experience with Reading X-rays Experience with Travel Health Experience with Infectious Diseases Experience with Sports Injuries Electronic Medical Record Experience Quality Assurance Skills

Minimum Qualifications from Classification Physician Assistant: Possession of a valid Oregon license as a Physician Assistant and successful completion of the national certification exam.
Nurse Practitioner: Current Oregon license as a Registered Nurse and possession of a valid certification as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position NP or PA from an approved accredited school in the corresponding discipline. NP with active Family or Adult board certification and 3 years post-graduate experience in primary care. PA with active board certification and 3 years post-graduate experience in primary care. Active, unencumbered License (corresponding discipline) to practice medicine. Current DEA license. Current BLS.
Preferred Qualifications Bilingual/multilingual FNP or PA who is experienced with trauma-informed care and working with patients of diverse cultural backgrounds.
Previous college health experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active, unencumbered licenses to practice medicine for applicants outside of Oregon will be considered. Multilingual or Bilingual. Experience with trauma-informed care. Experience working with patients of diverse cultural backgrounds. Medical Knowledge base that is current and continually updated. Infection Control experience. Quality Improvement/Assurance experience. College Health experience. Work Days/Hours TBD Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting hourly salary rate for this position will be between $43.32 and $49.94. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
