Shared Services Vendor & Contract Management Lead

Are you passionate about driving performance and value through effective vendor relationships? We’re seeking an experienced and commercially savvy Vendor & Contract Management Lead to join our Business Services Centre team at Downer.

In this key role, you will lead the end-to-end management of our shared services vendor contracts, ensuring service delivery, performance, compliance, and cost-effectiveness across all stages of the contract lifecycle. Acting as the bridge between our strategic vendor (TCS) and internal stakeholders, you’ll play a critical role in aligning contractual obligations with operational and financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end contract lifecycle including renewals, amendments, disputes, and variations, ensuring full compliance with contractual terms, internal policy, and legal obligations Monitor vendor performance and service delivery against KPIs, SLAs, and governance structures, ensuring accountability and real operational value Coordinate and lead Quarterly Business Reviews and regular vendor meetings alongside the Group General Manager of Finance Services, preparing detailed performance reports and actionable insights Work closely with Legal, Procurement, and Operations to proactively identify and manage contractual risks, disputes, and continuous improvement opportunities Ensure financial integrity through accurate validation of invoices, vendor payments, and cost forecasting in collaboration with the Performance and Finance teams Maintain detailed and auditable records of contract decisions, commercial transactions, and vendor performance Champion performance optimisation by developing and tracking vendor scorecards, action plans, and improvement initiatives Liaise with internal stakeholders across Finance, Audit, Procurement, and Digital to ensure service delivery aligns with strategic needs and compliance obligations Support internal and external audit processes by ensuring robust documentation and evidence of performance and compliance Promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and wellbeing by supporting Downer’s Zero Harm principles and wellbeing programs such as Mental Health First Aid Identify opportunities to drive value through new vendor solutions, digital innovation, or service delivery enhancements Contribute to Downer’s broader vendor management approach through cross-functional collaboration and information sharing

What you’ll bring:

Proven experience in contract and vendor management, ideally within a shared services or outsourced environment Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, invoice validation, and forecasting Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to influence outcomes Tertiary qualifications in Business, Operations, or a related field
