Service Sales/Estimator

Position Identification:

Non-Exempt

Reports to: Service Manager

 

Position Summary:

 

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Service Sales/Estimator to join our team. This role focuses on selling to both new and existing clients, generating leads, and conducting site inspections to estimate roofing service needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed scopes of work, estimating labor and materials, and delivering professional proposals. This position plays a key role in client relationship management and supports project execution from estimation through material ordering.

 

Job Functions:

 

Generate leads through cold calls, emails, networking, referrals, and door-to-door outreachSchedule and attend appointments with key decision-makersBuild long-term client relationships based on trust and service excellenceConduct site inspections and prepare accurate scopes of work and estimatesPrepare and present proposals tailored to client needsDevelop estimates using field notes, blueprints, specifications, and site visitsMaintain organized records of contacts, sales activities, and documentationFollow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and request referralsManage ongoing projects, including ordering materials and coordinating with the service team

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

 

High school diploma or equivalentPrior experience estimating in the construction industryProficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); familiarity with estimating softwareAbility to conduct take-offs and core cutsComfortable working at heights and using ladders or aerial liftsAble to work in various weather conditions

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):

 

4+ years of experience in construction sales, ideally in the roofing industryOSHA 30 certificationWorking knowledge of MS ProjectFamiliarity with basic accounting principles

Key Competencies:

 

Physically capable of climbing ladders/scaffolding, and navigating job sitesStrong communication skills, including listening and presentation abilitiesDetail-oriented and organized with strong follow-up skillsCollaborative team player with a customer-first mindset

Occupational Health and Safety:

 

Adhere to OSHA safety standards and company safety policiesIdentify, assess, and report safety risks and incidents promptlyParticipate in workplace health and safety initiativesProper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Working Conditions:

 

Physical surroundings: Office environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature.

Physical Effort: Extensive sitting, standing, walking.   Repetitive keying, typing.  Occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds

Travel: Occasional (3-4 times per year)

Hours: 8 hours per day (Hours between 7:00 a.m. thru 5:00 p.m.)
