Service Integration and Release Engineer (SIE/SRE)
Job Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on a full-time basis. Only 3x times per week (tue-thru)

Role:

Join the Global Aftersales Engineering in an opportunity to become Service Integration and Release Engineer (SIE/SRE). It is a dynamic environment – focusing on engineering solutions for serviceability of General Motors vehicles. As part of the team, you will develop and implement strategies that ensure technical excellence and support vehicle throughout its lifecycle.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities) 

Represent advanced serviceability during the program developmentIdentify, address and/or escalate serviceability issues as appropriate utilizing business case analysis tools and math data analysisSupport development and validation of service special tools and customer literaturesDevelop and validate preliminary service proceduresProvide technical support for various other teams as Program Management, Service Training, Warranty Center, Technical Assistance, Assembly Plants, Field support and othersAnalyze engineering updates Develop salvage processes for cost reductionGenerate serviceability technical solutions for current, new and major programsRelease parts and subsystems for service on aftersales system, ensuring the service parts needed to repair GM vehicles are available to our dealers and customers globallyAnalyze and resolve engineering deviations, suggestions, and internal/external customer inquiries relative to service partsCreate/sign off on Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Authorizations (ECAs).  Maintain communications, build relationships, and represent Aftersales Engineering with all CCA downstream functions and internal customers.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive or equivalent)Advanced of oral and written English communication skills.Spanish is desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle systems, with a preference for expertise in electrical and interior parts, along with technical and professional skills in job-related areas.Strong written & verbal communication skillsHigh level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficultHigh level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others globallyProject Management skills (team work, organizational, priority setting, problem solving, negotiating, innovation)Data management skills, power BI, math data
