​Field Service Engineer – Medical Devices

Within our Medical Division there is currently an excellent opportunity for the right person to join our Service Team.  Reporting directly to the Regional Medical Service Manager, the successful applicant will be an experienced Service Engineer with a high level of IT skills. Working together with our team in South Australia, you will provide remote and phone support, remote diagnosis, testing and breakdown repairs to a wide range of high-end devices and software. You will have IT skills and be proficient in Networking, Device Setup and Software navigation. In addition to the technical aspects, this position requires excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.

The key responsibilities for this position include (but not limited to):

Maintain effective relationships with customers by gaining their respect and trust.Proactively completing PM tasks according to Service Contracts.Onsite repairs, surgical microscopes, diagnostics and installation of designated high-end products and software.Upgrade software and apply patches as necessary.Completing Field Service Reports and related documentation.Strong troubleshooting skills, provide technical support for customers and escalate as necessary.May consult with other vendors to mutually agree on a resolution.Ability to communicate technical issues on a non-technical level.Detail oriented with excellent time management skills and networking experience.Ability to follow company policies and procedures.Excellent telephone manners and interpersonal skills.Maintain service tools and equipment and provide accurate compliance of all field service administration and reporting requirements.

The key skills required for this role include:

Formal qualifications in an electronic / engineering / IT field.Experience in servicing precision equipment is required.Strong IT knowledge and awareness in PC supported instrument diagnostics would be an advantage. A high level of computer literacy and networking is essential with the ability to work unsupervised.Knowledge of the DICOM standard, SQL and PACS is desirable.A Full Australian Driving license is required.Past proven experience in a customer orientated environment with exceptional customer service and the ability to deal with difficult situations and customersTravelling to customers sites across metro and regional areas, which can require long distance driving, air travel and hotel accommodation.A process driven individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible often dealing with ad-hoc queries from customers.Strong organizational and communication skills.
