Position Overview:
As a crucial member of the Partner Solutions Marketing team, the Service Development Manager gathers competitive intelligence, researches the telecommunications market to identify new business opportunities and identifies potential new products and services. With the focus on data access products used by our Wholesale Providers for core connectivity supporting their critical end customer locations. This resource researches, identifies, and / or evaluates advanced products & services by translating strategic business objectives into product requirements. The individual would then champion these development opportunities through TELUS’ stage gate methodology as required to drive initiatives to commercial availability. This position also gathers subject matter expertise across multiple large-scale, complex initiatives, and contributes to the evaluation of new concepts, techniques and standards.
The successful candidate will be part of a diverse, high performance team of product professionals to assess, develop, deliver, and manage a wide variety of network and mandated telecom solutions. This tightly knit team consists of individuals who understand how to balance sales, delivery, customer care, regulatory/CRTC mandates and client needs throughout the lifecycle of a product and service.

Develop, own and maintain a product roadmap and business requirements through analyzing, anticipating, and understanding of market, customer, regulatory and technology trends. Assemble cross functional teams across all business units to gather requirements for new product ideas. Collaborating with Product Leads to ensure a clear understanding of user needs and problems to be solved/jobs to be done Responsible for providing necessary inputs into the economic, competitive, and technical analysis of emerging products and solutions to support growth initiatives. Accountable for developing business cases that determine spend of the capital envelope associated with a given project and/or initiative (including measurement of project performance and ROI). Provide tactical direction on infrastructure investments. Identify emerging global trends and technologies through competitive landscape research, market reports, analyst reports, etc. Utilize this knowledge to provide necessary inputs into business case development.
