About the Project:

Join UGL’s Manufacturing and Maintenance division as we embark on the landmark New Intercity Fleet (NIF) project. This initiative will revolutionise train services for customers traveling from Sydney to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Blue Mountains, and the South Coast.

About Your Role:

As a Service Delivery Manager, your role is centered around leading and managing maintainers to ensure that all maintenance work is executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and safely. This position plays a critical role in achieving project objectives, particularly in the areas of safety, environmental compliance, train availability and reliability, budget adherence, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction for the NIF (New Intercity Fleet) Project.

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate leadership in safety, quality, and environmental management, maintaining a safe workplace aligned with UGL’s One HSE Culture framework.Lead, direct, and mentor the team to meet scheduled train availability and reliability targets.Monitor maintenance performance to meet contractual milestones and manage risks effectively.Drive continuous improvement using Lean methodologies and implement innovative process improvements.Liaise openly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring relationships are built and maintained with operational teams and project partners.Manage team performance by setting clear KPIs, conducting appraisals, and developing succession plans.Ensure compliance with UGL’s policies and procedures, maintaining record-keeping and reporting standards.


About You:

This role is suited for a proactive leader who can manage complex demands while inspiring and developing a high-performing team. You will bring:

Extensive leadership experience in a production/maintenance environment, ideally within rail, automotive, defense, or safety-critical industries.Expertise in Lean principles, business improvement techniques, and resource planning systems.Proven ability to manage safety, quality, and environmental requirements to meet contractual standards.Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to foster collaboration with stakeholders at multiple levels.Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritise, plan, and execute complex tasks efficiently.Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and related tools.


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

A degree in Engineering, Asset Management, relevant trade or equivalent experience.
