About the opportunity 

As Service Centre Manager, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end operation of the service centre – from production and workflow scheduling to team leadership and customer engagement. You’ll lead a skilled team to ensure that jobs are delivered safely on time, and to the highest standard. You’ll also work closely with internal teams and customers, bringing your commercial awareness and technical know-how to every interaction. 

This role is primarily based in both office and workshop environments, with occasional travel as required. Flexibility is essential, as the position supports operational needs across diverse locations and evolving customer requirements. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

Lead day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring production targets, quality, and safety standards are met. 

Manage team performance, development, and training aligned with the Sandvik Leadership Model. 

Oversee job scheduling, resource allocation, inventory control, and equipment maintenance. 

Drive continuous improvement and cost efficiency across operations. 

Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and service delivery. 

Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, logistics, and customer support teams. 

Monitor workshop KPIs, reporting operational risks, opportunities, and improvements to senior stakeholders. 

 
About you  

Essential: 

Trade qualification (mechanical, electrical, or similar). 

Proven experience managing workshop operations in heavy industry, mining, or equipment maintenance. 

Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills. 

Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, and planning tools. 

Customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand and support operational needs. 

A passion for safety and a proactive approach to risk management and compliance. 

Desirable: 

Qualifications in leadership, business, or project management. 

Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Maximo). 

Ongoing professional development in safety, compliance, or customer service.
