Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesOverall responsibilities and duties:
The Serial buyer is in charge to manage overall supplier related activity for the plants and suppliers under his/her scope during the Mass Production phase and Service Life.
The Series Buyer is responsible for improving the supplier performance in production (quality, cost, delivery) in line with purchasing strategy.
The main missions of the role are:
Propose, monitor and implement external and internal cost saving actions for the assigned scope
Analise, Screen parts from the plant and assess BLC, cost model, VAVE and other productivity actions leading to savings
Responsible for achieving the purchasing budget
Support in building the purchasing budget for the plant with the Purchasing manager and commodity buyer
Lead the implementation team for all transfers (make or buy, footprint change, supplier resourcing…)
Work closely with the Supply Chain team to continuously improve the supplier performance and inventory reduction
Manage ECR (engineering change request) for his / her dedicated scope
Be involved in the Sourcing Committees and Steering Committees in program phase to prepare the start of Production. Lead the Transfer between Program buyer and Productivity buyer and validate the Hand over.
Ensure high level of supplier quality performance and supports appropriate action plans for corrections with Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer
Recharge justified non quality cost due to suppliers
Ensure communication with PURCHASING community (Commodity, Program, Supplier Quality and Back office).
Qualifications:
Minimum education level: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in purchasing, production or sales
Automotive experience would be an advantage
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of productivity / lean management methodology
Knowledge of production, quality and logistics
Team player, proactive, positive attitude, good personality, and hands-on style.
Mature, good interpersonal, and leadership skills. Logical mindset and able to learn on the fly.
Fluent in English communication both speaking and writing.
Accountable and results oriented with strong written and communication skills.
International mind set and overseas experience is a plus.
Ability to work in matrixed organization.
