**Overview**
As an SEO Strategist, you function as a key member of the SEO team and are responsible for overseeing the translation of SEO strategies into final recommendations based on the client’s campaign goals and objectives. This specific role will be expected to understand the basic tenets of SEO and have a strong expertise in writing long-form content for brand websites. You must understand how to adapt to a client’s brand voice and know how to structure website content so that it can rank well in traditional search results and be cited in AI Search all while following SEO best practices.
**Responsibilities**
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Developing long-form articles intended to help brand websites rank in search results and be cited in AI search.
+ Developing brand content for product pages, including, but not limited to, metadata, on-page copy and alt text.
+ Understanding technical and SEO best practices
+ Executing basic content and technical SEO strategies; may include developing and performing detailed site audits to identify issues and ensure site is properly optimized for search engine visibility, editing documentation delivered internally or externally by the SEO department and maintaining internal technical/content resources such as checklists and style guides, and/or crafting keyword lists.
+ Understanding clients’ overarching marketing objectives, how digital fits/complements their goals.
+ Collaborating with team leaders to produce ongoing thought capital.
+ Monitoring results and producing insights for clients on performance of content optimizations.
**People/Team**
+ Participates in internal training to develop subject matter competency.
+ Participates in development of case studies and thought leadership
+ Participates in training and learning opportunities to develop competency in digital marketing
+ Participates in training to grow skills in topics such as professional communication, client advocacy and how to convey insights.
+ Engages in team discussions to share learnings, best practices, case studies, insights, and POVs with the greater SEO team.
**Client Stewardship**
+ Supports main point-of-contact for day-to-day SEO programs (internal and external).
+ Provides strategy/technical/content findings to internal SEO lead; prepares routine/ad-hoc reports for clients and internal customers.
+ Cultivates partner relationships that are strategic; helps drive client business.
+ Supports content lead with article/topic briefs
**Qualifications**
+ 3+ years of experience in writing long-form copy or a journalistic field.
+ Basic knowledge of the core tenets of SEO.
+ Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience. Journalism, English or Communications degree (or equivalent) preferred.
+ Knowledge or experience of SEO tools such as Conductor, BrightEdge, Search Metrics is preferred but not required.
+ Preferred experience and knowledge necessary to service an account in the CPG industry.
+ Experience and use of third-party research tools and developed the ability to field questions/offer advice regarding developing SEO content/technical strategies such as Google Search Console, Moz, SEMRush, etc.
+ Experience and use of website analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Omniture, etc. is preferred but not required.
+ Has shown the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Exceptional verbal/written communication skills.
+ Working knowledge of front-end development not required but preferred.
+ Travel may be required.

Compensation Range: $ 59,850- $90,620. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
