Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an exciting opportunity with Specialty Engineering on the Sentinel program for a Staff Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering leadership to support the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) and Human Systems Integration (HSI) teams. This role will also support the broader Systems Engineering Specialty organization in Huntsville, AL assisting the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Site Lead and support to the on-site E3 and HSI teams. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program and may offer a competitive relocation package.

What you’ll get to do: 

Interface with inter-organizational management and external customers to communicate technical briefing and program status.Support Program Management activities to ensure cost and schedule objectives are met; support program status efforts including Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tracking and Control Account Management (CAM) activities. Assist with the generation of well-defined and executable system and subsystem requirements documents and test and verification documents.Drive product quality in customer deliverables as outlined in the SOW and defined in the Contract Data Requirements List. Support system/subsystems integration, test, and requirements verification activities.Support the preparation of system engineering materials during System Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, System Verification Review, Test Readiness Review, and other program reviews as needed.May act as coordinator of special projects, following up on pending details, coordinating activities, and ensuring deadlines are met.


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 12 years of experience; 10 years with Master’s Degree; 8 years of experience with a PhD.US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.Must be eligible to obtain additional Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.10+ years’ Experience with Agile and working in a cross-functional Scrum teams.10+ years’ Experience with Product Owner and Product Manager core responsibilitiesExperience supporting DoD contracts and/or large supplier management portfolio experience in other industries5+ years’ experience as an Earned Value Management System Control Account Manager (EVMS CAM) and/or past profit and loss statement (P&L) accountability

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
