A Nuclear Surety engineer has the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a system designed to provide another 50 years of security for this great nation. Nuclear Surety ensures that nuclear weapons are protected against peacetime and wartime threats at all times. Ensure technical excellence as the Lead Engineer of the Nuclear Armed Sea Launched Cruise Missile Program, responsible for managing the technical baseline through change board controlLead a cross-functional team in the development of system functional and performance requirementsLead system-level cross-functional trades and impact studies to ensure system architecture and design meets all functional, performance, and design requirements imposed by internal and external stakeholdersProvide detailed technical briefings on behalf of the program to internal and external stakeholders, including senior government officials and technical authoritiesDirect and coordinate all Nuclear Surety activities with program systems engineering team and external and internal stakeholdersCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Northrop Grumman suppliers, to understand weapon system requirements and develop strong communications and stakeholder involvement throughout the program lifecycleBASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of experience, 12 years of experience with a Master's Degree, OR 10 years of experience with PhD. Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret//SCI security clearance.Must have experience presenting to upper-level leadership.Must have experience leading a technical team.Must have experience planning and implementing Nuclear Surety requirementsPreferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) discipline or higherExperience using CAMEO and DOORSActive Top Secret//SCI clearance current and within scope Proven ability to deliver effective communication verbally, written, and through well-crafted presentations across all levels of an organization.Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities.Manage multiple projects concurrently in meeting customer requirements/expectations.Experience and working knowledge of US Navy submarine or strategic weapons programs.Experience and working knowledge of Cruise Missiles.Proficiency in driving programmatic battle rhythm. Primary Level Salary Range: $162,500.00 - $243,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
