Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join its team of diverse and qualified individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division. The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability.
Roles and Responsibilities
Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design.Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration) Generation or review of design artifacts to support System Safety analyses utilized in maturing weapons system design for safety and support flight test and flight worthiness of complex systems.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 6 years of experience with Master's degree, 4 years of experience with PhD
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Requires 8 years of experience with C/C++, Java, object oriented design, or similar experience
Requires 5 years of experience to execute developed processes in Engineering and Manufacturing Development Phase
Requires experience developing in an Agile environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using MIL-STD-882E or similar processes for hardware and /or software design development
Software development or coding experience.
Experience using DO-178 for design development.
Model Based Systems Engineering experience
Experience developing missile flight systems software
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certificate
Weapon System experience (Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)
US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance at time of application, current and within scope (< 6years)

Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
