Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Sr Principal Software Engineer. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama and will support the Sentinel program.

Responsible for development and execution of automated and manual test cases to verify functional software requirements.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience; or PhD with 4 years of experience. Or 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

• 3+ years of experience working Software Test, SW Development and/or Systems Engineering

• 3+ years of experience with Java, C++, Python

• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology

Preferred Qualifications:

•  Experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

•  Experience with Windows server administration experience such as Active Directory and management of Group Policies (GPOs)

•  Experience with VMware and ESXi configuration and management

•  Experience with network administration such as Cisco and related infrastructure

•  Familiar with DevOps architecture such as Kubernetes, Nexus, Docker, GitLab, etc.

•  Familiar with security tools for access controls, security updates, vulnerability assessment, and incident response

•  Experience with scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.

•  Has or is able to obtain IAT Level I certification such as Security+ or higher level CASP+, SecurityX, or CISSP

Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
