Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Network Architect/Sr. Principal Systems Network Architect in support of the Sentinel program. This opening is located in Manhattan Beach, CA and will support the Sentinel Program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

Execute a comprehensive network strategy, aligned with the organization’s goals, and focuses on digital engineering, digital thread, and advanced analytics across weapon system design for initial development through sustainment. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable network infrastructure, to include network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection per DoD requirements.Collaborate with engineering and business leaders to align data initiatives with program goals. Develop and enable program network risks management process in concurrence with program risk management.Maintain knowledge of current and emerging Industry and DoD trends and technologies in network frameworks, management and analytics and ensure proper utilization where applicable.Mentor and support building a high-performing network team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Serve as a thought leader, representing the company at industry forums, conferences, and with government and commercial partners. General Responsibilities:Display strong stakeholder management skills, including presenting solutions to senior leadership.Leading organizational change and ensuring successful adoption of new technologies and best practices.Mentor junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Lead high-performing teams, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development.Implement DevOps frameworks for network teams, improving operational efficiency and reducing time-to-insight.Drive company-wide network strategy and innovation, aligning technical goals with business objectives.Influence and gain buy-in from key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and successful project delivery.Manage network governance, network security, network modeling, and enterprise architecture frameworks.Provide experience in understanding, managing, and integrating business or DoD Program inputs and interfaces across a variety of tool sets and data sources.Network Architecture development with and understanding of network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection per DoD requirementsTechnical Skills and Core Competencies:Knowledge in IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP sub-netting and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, QoS, and SD-WANKnowledge in network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.Knowledge with virtualization technologies to include virtual software, machines, networks and appliancesKnowledge with Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, and Group PolicyKnowledge with Cyber products for systems to include logging, vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection mechanisms, patching systems, anti-virus and related processesKnowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF), Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and requirements development from control listingsKnowledge all areas of network and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers etc.This position requires a combination of technical expertise and a strong understanding of DoD-specific security requirements and protocols.Knowledge of COMSEC equipmentUnderstanding of OSI Open Systems Interconnection model and the impact of each level to the design of a network architecture.Basic Qualifications:
Sr. Principal Systems Network Architect - 8 Years of related experience with Bachelor's degree in STEM; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhDORPrincipal Systems Systems Network Architect - 5 Years of related experience with Bachelor's degree in STEM; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhDMust be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 yearsMust be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs2+ years of experience in IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP sub-netting and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, QoS, and SD-WAN1-2 years of experience architecting and realizing scalable, secure, and cost-effective network platforms.Ability to travel up to 25%.Preferred Qualifications:

Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
