We are looking for a Sensory Panel Leader to oversees the sensory team, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure the effective execution of sensory evaluation projects; while acting as a Panel Leader for assigned categories.
**A day in the life**
**Lead and manage a team of Panel Leaders and Technicians**
1. Ensures sensory evaluations are conducted timely, accurately, and consistently.
2. Ensures sensory data provide recommendations to inform product development decisions.
3. Manages team workflows, conducts target setting, and fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment.
4. Develops strategy to sustain maximum attendance during sensory evaluations.
5. Establish standard routines and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
6. Ensures compliance to all relevant standards.
**Enable competency of sensory panels**
1. Develops training programs to enhance the sensory literacy and skills of the panels.
2. Ensures performance checks are done regularly.
3. Ensures back-up system is fully established.
**Manage optimal use of resources**
1. Leads resolution of conflicts related to schedules.
2. Conducts workload studies and implement optimization actions.
**Network and provide technical assistance**
1. Network/communicate within R&D locations on sensory methodology, to contribute to knowledge transfer and to keep up with new development in the field.
2. Continuously seeks for improving Sensory Evaluation methods.
**What will make you successful**
• Academic background in food science / food technology (scientific / technical and statistical knowledge).
• Ideally min. 3-5 years of experience in sensory evaluation, preferably in FMCG from R&D side. A broader experience in operations and management is a plus.
