C3 AI is looking for a Senior WordPress Website Developer to own and evolve our corporate website (c3.ai), ensuring it reflects our brand, drives engagement, and supports pipeline generation. This pivotal role sits within the Marketing team and works closely with Design, Communications & Content, and Product Marketing teams to deliver a world-class digital experience built on the WordPress platform.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development, maintenance, and performance optimization of the c3.ai website, leveraging WordPress best practices. Collaborate with designers, communications, and marketers to implement new pages, update existing content, and ensure brand consistency through custom WordPress theme and block development. Develop responsive and accessible WordPress components, custom blocks, and page templates using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, adhering to modern WordPress development standards. Apply SEO best practices specifically within the WordPress ecosystem (e.g., Yoast SEO, Rank Math) to improve search visibility and use tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console to monitor and optimize site performance. Manage technical integrations with CRM, marketing automation, and analytics tools, utilizing WordPress plugins or custom development for seamless data flow. Own version control (e.g., Git) and deployment workflows for WordPress themes, plugins, and core updates; ensure site stability and uptime. Identify and implement opportunities to improve page speed, security, and UX within the WordPress environment, including caching solutions, image optimization, and database optimization. Work with internal teams to scope, test, and launch new web functionality and features, often through custom plugin development or extending existing WordPress functionalities. Manage web hosting, domain management, SSL certificates, and other technical infrastructure relevant to WordPress deployments. Ensure brand consistency across all web properties, specifically through consistent WordPress theme application and content management. Maintain website compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG) and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) within the WordPress framework.Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in front-end web development with a strong focus on WordPress (corporate/marketing website experience preferred). Deep proficiency in HTML, CSS (Sass/Less preferred), JavaScript (including jQuery and modern JS frameworks within WordPress contexts), and expert-level PHP for WordPress development. Extensive experience with WordPress as a CMS platform, including custom theme development from scratch, custom plugin development, and leveraging the WordPress API. Strong understanding of WordPress SEO best practices, accessibility standards (WCAG), and performance optimization techniques specific to WordPress. Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, etc.) and their integration with WordPress. Familiarity with web hosting environments optimized for WordPress, domains, and DNS management. Ability to work independently and in fast-paced, cross-functional teams, managing WordPress projects end-to-end.Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future company sponsorship.
