Job Summary** Operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage. **II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. + Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage. + Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and tests results to determine load requirements. + Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes. + Maintains log of operations and records meter and gauge readings. + Collects sewage sample and conducts laboratory tests. + Operates and maintains power generating equipment to provide steam and electricity for plant. **III. Supervisory Responsibilities** This job has no supervisory duties. **IV. Qualifications** The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience + Education: High school diploma or G.E.D (accredited). + Experience: Minimum of four (4) years previous experience (in addition to education requirements). B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements + None required. C.
