The M365 Core Design team is looking for a systems-minded **Senior Voice Designer** to help share the future of AI-powered experiences in the Microsoft Copilot Chat team. This is a role that works across voice, screen and vision modalities to create intuitive, inclusive and delightful conversational UX Experiences.

**Responsibilities**
+ Design end-to-end conversational experiences across voice in/out, screen + voice, and vision + voice modalities on Windows, Web, Mobile and across multiple app experiences.
+ Collaborate with LLM service teams to shape prompt strategies, output formatting, and fallback behaviors.
+ Prototype and test multimodal interactions that balance clarity, efficiency, and delight.
+ Define interaction models for turn-taking, interruptibility, and contextual grounding in voice-first and hybrid experiences.
+ Partner with researchers, PMs, scientists, and engineers to validate designs and iterate based on user feedback and telemetry.
+ Contribute to design systems and frameworks that scale across products and platforms.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
+ OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 4+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 2 years focused on conversational interfaces or voice UX.
**Other Requirements:**
+ A portfolio demonstrating multimodal interaction design (e.g., voice + screen, vision + voice).
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Familiarity with LLM architectures, speech-to-text (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) systems.
+ Solid portfolio demonstrating multimodal interaction design (e.g., voice + screen, vision + voice).
+ Deep understanding of speech UX constraints, LLM behavior, and prompt engineering.
+ Experience designing for accessibility, trust, and personality in AI-driven systems.
+ Proficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, and usability testing methods.
+ Experience working on Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar AI assistants.
+ Background in linguistics, cognitive science, or human-computer interaction (HCI).
+ Experience designing for low-latency, real-time voice interactions.
Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
