What you’ll do ​& Who you are

The Role

As a Senior UX Designer, you’ll help define and deliver high-impact user experiences for B2C and small business sellers (SMBs) across Marktplaats and 2dehands, two of the leading classifieds platforms in the Netherlands and Belgium. You’ll turn complex user needs and ambitious business goals into intuitive, effective designs that make our SMB offering integral to the Marktplaats platform. Working closely with product managers, developers, and other designers, you'll lead and contribute to all stages of the product development lifecycle, championing a user-centric approach at every step.

What you’ll do

Design intuitive, consistent and effective user flows and interactions that solve user pain points and capture opportunities for our B2C/SMB customers, using a structured design approach to deliver substantial value.

Collaborate with UX researchers applying qualitative and quantitative methods to conduct research, including product discovery, building prototypes, coordinating and conducting face to face interviews, setting up A/B tests to validate your design solutions.

Partner with Product Managers to define product requirements, understand business goals, and strategically prioritize design initiatives, guiding design solutions from MVP to full product-market fit.

Collaborate effectively with front-end, app, and back-end developers to ensure technical feasibility and successful implementation of your designs.

Present complex design concepts and rationale clearly and convincingly  to senior stakeholders, expertly incorporating feedback.

What You Bring

5-7 years of professional experience as a UX Designer, preferably with experience within a B2C/SMB e-commerce/marketplace environment.

A strong  portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of user-centered design and a proven ability to deliver highly impactful and scalable UX solutions.

Affinity with diverse user research methodologies and the ability to translate complex insights into actionable, high-impact design solutions.

Extensive experience in UX design software (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).

Strong presence in a cross-functional team, where you inspire, lead, collaborate, and work in an agile way with people from other disciplines, like product managers, developers, and data analysts to deliver user value at speed.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to various stakeholders across business, product, tech and data.

Bonus Points If You Have

Proven experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO) in a high-volume B2C/SMB e-commerce context.
