How We Work?

Our hybrid work style (3 days in the office) gives us the face-to-face time to have creative conversations, meaningful meetings, make quick decisions and build relationships. And it’s flexible enough to give you the space to do your best work.

About The Role

As a Senior user researcher at Gen, you will conduct strategic research initiatives that shape the direction of our cybersecurity products and services. You’ll uncover meaningful insights that drive product strategy, improve user experiences, and inform long-term innovation. Working as a trusted partner across design, product, and beyond, you will bring a deep understanding of user behavior and needs into every stage of the product development lifecycle.

This is a senior-level role ideal for someone with experience in applied research and a strong ability to influence through insight. You’ll move fluidly between high-level exploration and hands-on tactical work—framing complex problems, identifying opportunity areas, and elevating the role of research across the organization. You’ll also play a key role in helping shape the future of our research practice.

Objectives:

Lead research for complex product areas, balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term vision.

Plan and conduct generative and evaluative research using different qualitative and quantitative methods.

Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

Partner with product, design, engineering leads and sales teams to define research goals, shape roadmaps, and inform decision-making.

You’ll lead user research within a specific domain, serving as the voice of the user and a strategic partner to your cross-functional teammates.

Coach and mentor junior-level researchers to build skills and foster a strong research culture.

Communicate findings in compelling ways through storytelling, visualizations, workshops, and strategic briefs.

Promote user-centered thinking across teams and help grow the organization’s research maturity. Be a thought partner, not just an executor of research.

Contribute to the evolution of research operations, methodologies, and tools.

Competencies:

Expertise in User Research (extensive experience (5+ years) leading research for digital products, with proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative methods)

Strategic Insight & Problem Framing (ability to frame complex, ambiguous problems and deliver high-impact insights that influence product and design direction)

Influence & Communication (strong stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of communicating insights clearly and driving decisions)

Leadership & Mentorship (comfortable mentoring or guiding other researchers, contributing to a culture of excellence and growth

Tool Fluency & Operational Savvy (proficiency with modern research and collaboration tools (e.g., UserTesting, FigJam, survey platforms), and fluency in English, both written and spoken)

Bonus: Experience working in technical, cybersecurity, or enterprise environments.

And a note from us: We know that not everyone will tick every box. If you're excited about the role and feel you could make a meaningful contribution, we’d love to hear from you—even if your experience looks a little different from what we’ve listed.

Benefits:
