Senior Underwriter - Hospitality

The Senior Underwriter will underwrite medium to complex hotel risks to achieve profitable growth through appropriate risk evaluation, selection, and pricing.  The Senior Underwriter will serve as a recognized hospitality underwriting expert and a resource to underwriting team.

RESPONSIBILITIESUnderwrite casualty for hotel risks within the granted level of authorities by identifying and analyzing risk exposures, loss frequency and severity against desired coverage. Communicate with agents, brokers, and internal sales to obtain information needed to underwrite risks.Develop relationships with both external and internal customers with the customer experience in mind.Work independently within deadlines while understanding the necessity of communicating and coordinating work efforts with stakeholders.Maintain quality control, compliance, and proper documentation.Provide periodic product/underwriting training.Conduct regular audits with Product Manager.Work with Product Manager to maintain Program Guidelines and Applications.Participate in other company projects and new initiatives.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 5 years of commercial casualty underwriting experience, preferably in the hospitality sector.Insurance license, AU, CIC, CPCU or comparable designations preferred.Analytical and quantitative skills.Must be self-driven detail oriented & possess strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization.Strong verbal and written communication skills.

COMPENSATION AND PERKS$90,000 - $120,000,000 base salary plus bonus.
