Your new role

Responsible for underwriting highly technical programs requiring detailed knowledge of underwriting within specific product classes.Responsible for underwriting activities and P&L responsibility for products aimed at the corporate segment (i.e liability, CAR liability, Fac-RI, International Program, worker's compensation, employee compensation etc.)Responsible for managing UW relationship with intermediaries and business partners in the area of underwriting service delivery, product development and innovationResponsible for managing overall business relationship with Major Trading Partners(MTP) and brokers in the area of GWP growthEnsure the ongoing personal technical development to achieve ideal DAL state
Act as a role model and demonstrate good leadership behaviorsSupport the divisional underwriting function to actively manage talent (attract, recruit, develop and retain) to build people capability for the future (succession planning)Key Performance Indicator on Growth & Profitability - GWP including Renewal and New Business vs. Plan, GWP per Underwriter; NCOR % and UW profit for Corporate channel; Renewal retention rate and New Business pipeline in Salesforce; APTP / Rate AdequacyKey Performance Indicator on MTP and Broker Servicing & Satisfaction - Broker survey results

About you

Degree or equivalent qualification preferableWorking experience with substantial experience gained within the General insurance industry to have the Understanding of relevant market conditionsThorough understanding of class specific underwriting and procedure and insurance/ reinsurance knowledgeAbility to assess risk and use of risk profiling and pricing tools and loss modelsStrong organizational, prioritization, interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skillsAbility to analyze data and use for decision-making to use pricing toolsStrong attention to detailEstablished customer/broker relationships would be an assetStrong level of numeracy and literacy skills would be an assetExtensive knowledge of relevant market conditions for specific class/portfolio would be an assetAbout QBE
