Senior Underwriter, Financial Lines and Casualty

How you will create an impact The role will report to the Corporate Manager of Financial Lines and will be responsible for contributing to the Corporate Team in achieving Financial, Strategic and Operational Goals. You will be engaging major brokers in servicing individual corporate accounts and complex placements. You will also be responsible for contributing to training junior underwriters and ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and best practices. Key accountabilities will include but not limited to: + Developing and executing strategies for the teams’ products to ensure targets are met through sustainable underwriting. + Jointly responsible for executing the Financial Lines business plans and budgets and carry out the appropriate functions within the business. + Provide accurate reports for Business Development and Retention as required + Lead strategic initiatives designed to achieve efficiency in processes and create a target operating model that optimizes the resources and revenue generation. + Underwriting standalone corporate accounts, both for renewal and new business within authorities granted and in accordance with profit centre guidelines. + Establish/Maintain strong customer/industry relationships including: + Broker relationships with indigenous and international broking firms. + Assisting with the roll out of new products and initiatives. + Service clients and brokers across New Zealand. + Undertake presentation to clients and/or brokers where required, including product specific training and pitching for business. + Attain appropriate levels of expertise in all product lines including changes and developments. + Seek opportunities to improve synergies and participate in cross-sell initiatives within the Profit Centre and with other Profit Centers + Keep up to date of market changes and trends What you’ll need to succeed + Graduate level degree in business, economics, insurance or marketing (preferred). + Insurance qualifications (ANZIIF or CII) + Proven experience in the Financial Lines Insurance business + Insurance industry knowledge, regulations & codes + High performing mindset with a passion for improvement and development + Skillset: Marketing Relationship, Strategic Planning, Accountability, Budgeting, Business Acumen, Business Development, Competitive Analysis, Conducting Presentations, Decision making, Distribution Management Ready to accelerate your career?
